Storytelling for Children

Children really enjoy listening to the story of "The Colourless Little Jellyfish", and they were very active in answering questions about the story. They could observe the difference and changes in the characters'emotions, and they could distinguish them. During the games played in groups, children could also answer questions about different situations and also share their personal experiences, such as the last time they feel very angry, and what did they do to calm themselves down etc. Hence, we realized that children could express themselves very transparently and they show thorough knowledge to using the right methods to negativity expression. Some children also made handcrafted socks, were they could choose the materials they like most and they took the initiative to share thoughts of creation with peers; for instance, a child used materials that are blue, because the colour represents sadness, and shared a sad experience that happened recently. Given that, stortelling could help children express their negativity through other means, for example: pressing hard on the handcrafted socks, instead of committing assaulting actions.
