Harmony House was established in 1985 as the first shelter for abused women and their children in Hong Kong. Today, we have developed into a one-stop anti-domestic violence service agency, with a wide range of preventive, therapeutic and developmental programmes to help families affected by domestic violence. We also organise community education programmes, promote harmonious and healthy family relationships, provide training to multi-disciplinary and advocate for policies and legislations on behalf of victims of violence, their families and communities.

To support the victims of the Tai Po Wang Fuk Court fire and other affected residents, our organization has launched the “Tai Po Care Fund” (Click here to donate), providing the following urgent support services:
1) Child Support
- Children’s Play Therapy
Four individual sessions to help 30 children cope with post-disaster trauma through therapeutic play and art. (Additional sessions
provided as needed). - Child Recovery & Emotion Education through Storytelling
Online storytelling and picture books to help children express emotions, understand grief, and view death as a natural part of life.

2) Emotional and Psychological Support for Families and Individuals
- Emotional support & Individual case counseling
Offer counseling for disaster survivors and individuals/families affected by emotional distress due to the fire, accompanying them
through grief, anxiety, and stress. - Parent-Child Workshops (Schools and Transitional Housing)
Use interactive activities to strengthen parent-child relationships and relieve post-disaster stress. - Individual and Family Therapy Groups
Provide group activities for survivors and those emotionally affected by the fire, fostering mutual support networks and care.
3) School and Professional Support
- School Outreach Program: On-site support for teachers and students to help restore a sense of safety and emotional stability.
- Community and Professional Seminars: Equip frontline workers and professionals with crisis response and intervention strategies, as well as practical approaches for supporting children with trauma.
4) Community Support
- Emotional Support Stations (Tai Po and Transitional Housing Areas)
Provide emotional first aid, Supportive listening, resource referrals, and stress-relief activities. - Regular Mental Wellness Seminars
Online live and recorded sessions on “Post-Fire Mental Wellness in Tai Po,” designed to help families rebuild routines and strengthen resilience.

- Adults, including breadwinners, parents, elders, and caregivers living in Tai Po and affected by the disaster
- School students and teachers in Tai Po who were impacted by the fire incident
